What the eTicket actually is
The eTicket replaced the paper immigration and customs cards that travellers used to fill in on the plane. It is one online form covering both entry and exit, and once you submit it the system issues a QR code. You show that code — on your phone or printed — when you reach passport control.
It is not a visa, not a ticket, and not something you buy. It is a declaration form, and it is free.
The only official site
Complete it at eticket.migracion.gob.do, the Dominican government's migration portal. Anything else is a copy.
Because the requirements and the exact fields have been revised since the form was introduced, we deliberately do not reproduce a step-by-step walkthrough here — a stale checklist is worse than none. Open the official site while you are packing and follow whatever it asks for on the day.
The scam warning that still matters
Within weeks of the form going digital, look-alike sites appeared charging travellers for a free government service. Some are still around, and they buy search ads. Two rules keep you safe:
- The official domain ends in gob.do. If the address bar says anything else, close the tab.
- You never pay to submit the eTicket. A payment screen means you are on the wrong site.
If you have already paid one of these sites, go back to the official portal and complete the real form — the paid version is not accepted by anyone.
What to have with you before you start
Travellers generally find it faster if their documents are already open: passports for everyone in the party, the airline reservation and its locator code, and the address of the resort, villa or home you are staying at. Fill in whatever the current form requests from those.
What happens after immigration
The eTicket gets you through passport control. What happens next is where we come in. We take your flight number when you book, monitor the flight, and your chauffeur waits inside the arrivals hall with a tablet showing your name — so a slow immigration hall costs you nothing. You have two hours of free waiting time after landing, which is generous enough to absorb a busy arrival bank or a delayed bag.
From there it is one direct private drive to your address. You can book your Punta Cana airport transfer before you fly, and add VIP Fast Track if you would rather skip the queues entirely.
