Punta Cana Airport to Viva Dominicus Beach by Wyndham — Private Transfer
Viva Dominicus Beach by Wyndham offers both rooms and bungalows, with land and water activities, on Playa Dominicus. A private transfer takes your party from the terminal to its reception in one vehicle, with your flight tracked from departure.
It is a separate property from Viva Dominicus Palace, and it is laid out low and wide rather than tall. Both facts shape the last few minutes of your journey.

Quote my Viva Dominicus Beach arrivalThe vehicle stops at reception. Your room may not be there.
Resorts route arriving vehicles through one reception, and this one is no exception. A chauffeur does not drive between room blocks: he pulls up at check-in, unloads with the bell staff, and that is the handover.
At a low-rise property with bungalows, the distance between that handover and your door can be a genuine walk. Nobody tells you this in advance, and it is the single most common surprise we hear about on this stretch of Dominicus — not the drive, the last hundred metres of it.
None of that is a criticism of the layout, which is the reason a lot of guests choose a bungalow in the first place. It is simply a thing worth knowing while you are still packing rather than while you are standing at check-in with a toddler and a hard case in the afternoon heat.
Knowing it changes what you pack in reach and how you dress for landing. It does not change anything we do, which is precisely why we would rather say it than let the page imply a door-to-door service that no resort permits.

Flight, party size and bags — the vehicle and the drop-off are fixed before you pay.
Luggage count, not headcount
Four people with four cases and four people with eight cases plus a stroller are not the same booking, and a vehicle sized on headcount alone will fail the second party at the kerb. Give us bags as well as bodies.
Activity kit, and what to declare
This property publishes land and water activities, and guests turn up accordingly: dive bags, boards, golf clubs, a wheelchair. Any of those is fine and none of them is a problem — as long as they are on the booking, because they are a boot-space question rather than a seat question. The vehicle sizes are set out on the fleet page.
Time on the road
Typical driving time to the Bayahibe / Dominicus zone, where the resort sits: about 58 min from Punta Cana Airport (PUJ) (71 km) · 94 min from Santo Domingo (SDQ) (121 km) · 31 min from La Romana (LRM) (26 km) · 190 min from Samaná El Catey (AZS) (236 km). These are zone-level figures for the whole Bayahibe / Dominicus dispatch zone rather than one property — every resort on this coast dispatches from the same routing row. Google Maps routing computed August 2026, and actual times vary with traffic. Driving estimates exclude immigration, baggage claim and hotel check-in.
That figure is for the dispatch zone that covers Bayahibe and Dominicus together. It is what we would quote for any property on this stretch, and we say so rather than dress the same row up as nine different measurements.
For the four-airport comparison and the seasonal notes, see the Bayahibe and Dominicus transfers hub.
Getting off the property mid-week
Dominicus is a base as much as a destination: Bayahibe village and the boat docks for Saona are close, Altos de Chavón and La Romana are a manageable outing, and Santo Domingo’s colonial city is a long but real day trip.
Any of those can be booked as an hourly or full-day charter with the same vehicle standard as your airport run, with pickup at reception. It is quoted as its own trip, not as an add-on to the transfer, and you can decide after you have arrived. Ask us through the contact page once your dates are firm.
Questions about the Viva Dominicus Beach run
- Is Viva Dominicus Beach the same resort as Viva Dominicus Palace?
- No. They are separate properties in the same Viva collection on the same stretch of Playa Dominicus, with separate check-in. Book the transfer to the property named on your room confirmation, and if you are staying at Palace use the Palace page instead of this one.
- Where exactly does the vehicle drop us?
- At the property's reception, which is where check-in happens and where bell staff are. We do not drive guests to individual room blocks or bungalows; resorts route arrivals through reception, and internal buggies or staff take over from there.
- We are in a bungalow. Does that change anything for the driver?
- Not for the drive, but it changes the last hundred metres for you. Bungalows sit away from the main building, so plan for a short walk or an internal lift with your bags after check-in. Telling us your luggage count still matters, because it decides the vehicle and how quickly you clear the terminal.
- How long is the drive from Punta Cana airport?
- We quote one figure for the whole Bayahibe and Dominicus dispatch zone, shown on this page, because that is the granularity of the routing data we hold for this coast. It excludes immigration, baggage claim and check-in.
- Can the same vehicle take us on an excursion later in the week?
- Yes — hourly and by-the-day charters are booked the same way as an airport run, with the pickup at your resort instead of a terminal. Tell us where you want to go and how long you want the vehicle, and it is quoted as its own trip.

Transekur is an independent ground transportation provider. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting as an agent for any hotel brand named on this page, including Hyatt Inclusive Collection, Iberostar, Wyndham, Catalonia and HM Hotels. Hotel names are used descriptively to identify the destinations we serve. To book a room, contact the resort or brand directly.
Driving figures on this page come from one routing row for the Bayahibe / Dominicus dispatch zone, not from a per-property measurement: every resort on this stretch dispatches from that same zone. Times are planning figures that vary with traffic, and they exclude immigration, baggage claim and hotel check-in. Resort facts are drawn from each brand's own published material; where a property does not publish something, we say so rather than fill the gap.
