Punta Cana Airport to Viva Dominicus Palace by Wyndham — Private Transfer

Viva Dominicus Palace by Wyndham is one of two Viva properties on this stretch of Playa Dominicus, and Wyndham advertises access to Viva Dominicus Beach for Palace guests. A private transfer brings your party from the terminal to the Palace reception in one vehicle.

That shared access is a genuine benefit for the week ahead. It is also the reason a handful of arrivals every season turn up at the wrong lobby.

Quote my Viva Dominicus Palace arrival

Access to facilities is not registration

Being able to use the neighbouring property all week reads, reasonably enough, as “either place is fine”. On arrival day it is not. Your reservation record, your key and the staff expecting you are at Palace, and only at Palace.

It also matters that the two names are nearly identical in writing. A booking that says only “Viva Dominicus” is not a small ambiguity to be tidied up later: it is two valid answers, and the person reading it has no way to choose between them without calling you. Ambiguity resolved in advance costs a sentence; ambiguity resolved on arrival day costs a queue.

This is a one-way arrangement in practical terms: a Palace guest can walk over to the Beach property later, but a Palace guest cannot check in there. Turning up at the wrong reception with luggage means being redirected while your chauffeur has already left.

So the entire job of this page is to get the word “Palace” onto the dispatch sheet and keep it there.

Write Palace, not Viva

“Viva Dominicus” describes two operating properties on the same beach. “The Viva” describes neither in a way a dispatcher can act on. The full published name is the only string that resolves to one reception, so copy it from your room confirmation rather than typing what you remember.

Split parties, declared in advance

Extended families on this stretch quite often book across both properties. We can serve that as two drop-offs on one booking or as two separate vehicles; what we cannot do is sort it out at the kerb, because the receptions are not interchangeable for check-in. Tell us the split when you book and it is a non-event.

What the road costs you in time

Typical driving time to the Bayahibe / Dominicus zone, where the resort sits: about 58 min from Punta Cana Airport (PUJ) (71 km) · 94 min from Santo Domingo (SDQ) (121 km) · 31 min from La Romana (LRM) (26 km) · 190 min from Samaná El Catey (AZS) (236 km). These are zone-level figures for the whole Bayahibe / Dominicus dispatch zone rather than one property — every resort on this coast dispatches from the same routing row. Google Maps routing computed August 2026, and actual times vary with traffic. Driving estimates exclude immigration, baggage claim and hotel check-in.

Palace and Beach sit in the same dispatch zone, so the figure above is identical for both, and we are not going to invent a difference to make this page feel more specific than the data behind it.

Airport choices for this coast, and how the drive changes by season, are covered on the Bayahibe and Dominicus transfers hub.

The morning you leave

Departures are collected from the Palace reception at a time we work backwards from your flight. We reconfirm passengers and bags the day before, and we keep watching the flight afterwards, so a schedule change moves the pickup instead of surprising you.

If you are flying out of a different airport than the one you arrived at — La Romana is nearest to this coast, Santo Domingo is often the cheaper long-haul — say so on the booking. The gateways are compared on the Dominican Republic airport comparison.

Questions about the Viva Dominicus Palace run

Palace guests can use Viva Dominicus Beach. Can we be dropped there instead?
On arrival day, no — go to Palace. Wyndham's Viva collection page advertises access to Viva Dominicus Beach for Palace guests, but access to facilities is not the same thing as registration. Check-in is at Palace, so that is where your room, your key and your reservation record are.
What do I put in the drop-off field?
Viva Dominicus Palace by Wyndham, in full. “Viva Dominicus” on its own is ambiguous between two operating properties here, and “the Viva resort” is worse. If your confirmation names Palace, the full name is what should reach the chauffeur's sheet.
We are two households, one at Palace and one at Beach. How should we book?
As two drop-offs on one booking, or as two bookings, whichever you prefer — but tell us which household is at which property before we assign vehicles. Splitting it afterwards at the kerb costs everyone time, and the two receptions are not interchangeable for check-in.
How long is the transfer from Punta Cana airport?
We publish one figure for the Bayahibe and Dominicus dispatch zone, which is on this page, rather than pretending to a per-resort measurement we do not hold. It excludes immigration, baggage claim and check-in, and it varies with traffic.
Can we move between the two properties during the stay?
That is the resort's business rather than ours — ask at reception how they handle guest movement between Palace and Beach. If you want a vehicle for something off the property instead, an hourly or day charter is booked the same way as an airport run.

Driving figures on this page come from one routing row for the Bayahibe / Dominicus dispatch zone, not from a per-property measurement: every resort on this stretch dispatches from that same zone. Times are planning figures that vary with traffic, and they exclude immigration, baggage claim and hotel check-in. Resort facts are drawn from each brand's own published material; where a property does not publish something, we say so rather than fill the gap.
