Punta Cana Airport to Dreams Dominicus La Romana — Private Transfer
Dreams Dominicus La Romana is a family resort on Playa Dominicus, and it is not the same property as Dreams La Romana Resort & Spa a few minutes up the coast. Book a private transfer with the full property name and one vehicle takes your party from the terminal to that reception, with your flight tracked from the moment it leaves.
Everything below is arranged around one job: getting the exact name on your hotel confirmation onto the dispatch sheet without anything falling off it.

Quote my Dreams Dominicus arrivalTwo resorts, both called Dreams, both carrying “La Romana”
This corridor holds Dreams Dominicus La Romana at Playa Dominicus and Dreams La Romana Resort & Spa at Playa Bayahibe. They are separate operating resorts with separate receptions. The names overlap in two places at once: the brand, and the words “La Romana”, which here describes the province rather than one hotel.
That is a naming problem, not a driving problem. The drive to either is short and the road is the same for most of it. What goes wrong is upstream of the road: a party writes “Dreams” on a form, a vehicle is assigned, and nobody notices the ambiguity until the last turn. We remove the ambiguity at the booking stage instead of resolving it at a gate.
So on this page you will not find us claiming the two resorts are hard to tell apart once you are standing in front of them. They are not. The failure happens on paper.

What the property name has to survive
A transfer booking passes through three hands. The hotel confirmation names the property. You copy that name into a booking. Dispatch turns the booking into a vehicle, a chauffeur and a drop-off. The name has to arrive intact at the end of that chain, because the last person in it is the one standing in arrivals with a tablet.
Shortening is where it breaks. “Dreams” is a brand with several properties in the east of the country. “Dominicus” is a beach with several resorts on it. Neither word on its own identifies a reception. The full string does.
What to copy from your hotel confirmation
Take the property name exactly as the resort wrote it, and keep your resort reservation number to hand. If your party is split across two properties on this coast — it happens with extended families and wedding groups — tell us which household is at which resort before we assign vehicles, not after.
We confirm the property back to you in writing when the booking is accepted. If what we read back is not what your hotel confirmation says, that is the moment to correct it, and it costs nothing to do so.
The drive to Playa Dominicus
Typical driving time to the Bayahibe / Dominicus zone, where the resort sits: about 58 min from Punta Cana Airport (PUJ) (71 km) · 94 min from Santo Domingo (SDQ) (121 km) · 31 min from La Romana (LRM) (26 km) · 190 min from Samaná El Catey (AZS) (236 km). These are zone-level figures for the whole Bayahibe / Dominicus dispatch zone rather than one property — every resort on this coast dispatches from the same routing row. Google Maps routing computed August 2026, and actual times vary with traffic. Driving estimates exclude immigration, baggage claim and hotel check-in.
We publish that figure at zone level because that is the granularity our routing data actually has for this coast: one row covering Bayahibe and Dominicus together. Quoting a different number for each resort here would be invention, and it would be the kind of invention that reads as precision.
The four-airport comparison, the road itself and what changes by season live on the Bayahibe and Dominicus transfers hub. This page stays on the one thing it is for.
Which airport, and why the answer is not obvious
La Romana (LRM) is the closest airport to Playa Dominicus. It also has far fewer scheduled flights than Punta Cana, so most guests arrive at PUJ regardless and drive west. Santo Domingo (SDQ) is the third option and is often the cheapest long-haul connection.
None of that changes the arrival itself: whichever terminal you land in, your chauffeur waits inside the arrivals hall with your name on a tablet, and you have two hours of free waiting time after landing. If you are still choosing flights, compare the three gateways on the Dominican Republic airport comparison before you book the room.
Arriving with a family, and leaving on time
The resort publishes a PADI dive centre, an Explorer’s Club for children and a teen Core Zone. What that means for us is timing rather than facilities: parties arriving here often want the vehicle to reach reception with enough of the day left for children to be checked in and out on the sand, and parties leaving often want a pickup that clears a morning dive.
Tell us the shape of the day and we schedule to it. Child seats are available and are the one item on this site with a published price, listed on the frequently asked questions page. For the return we work backwards from your departure flight, reconfirm passenger and luggage count before the pickup, and keep watching the flight afterwards.
Questions about the Dreams Dominicus run
- Is Dreams Dominicus the same resort as Dreams La Romana?
- No. They are two separate operating resorts. Dreams Dominicus La Romana is at Playa Dominicus; Dreams La Romana Resort & Spa is at Playa Bayahibe, next door to Secrets La Romana. Both carry the Dreams name and both carry “La Romana”, which is exactly why the full property name matters on a booking.
- What should I type in the drop-off field?
- Copy the property name from your hotel confirmation in full — Dreams Dominicus La Romana — rather than shortening it to Dreams or to Dominicus. If you already have a reservation number from the resort, add it in the notes: it gives dispatch a second way to confirm the property if anything looks ambiguous.
- Which airport is closest to Dreams Dominicus La Romana?
- La Romana (LRM) is the nearest airport to this whole stretch, ahead of Punta Cana (PUJ) and Santo Domingo (SDQ). LRM has far fewer scheduled flights, so most guests still arrive at PUJ. We serve the resort from all of them, and the airport comparison table is on the Bayahibe and Dominicus hub.
- Can you collect us for a dive trip or an early departure?
- Yes. Tell us the pickup time you need and we schedule the vehicle around it. For departures we work backwards from your flight and keep watching it for changes; if the flight moves, the pickup moves with it.
- Does the resort arrange the transfer for us?
- The resort does not publish a standard airport transfer as part of the stay, so treat the drive as something you arrange yourself unless your own confirmation says otherwise. Read the confirmation rather than assume either way — we would rather you use an entitlement you already hold than pay twice.

Transekur is an independent ground transportation provider. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting as an agent for any hotel brand named on this page, including Hyatt Inclusive Collection, Iberostar, Wyndham, Catalonia and HM Hotels. Hotel names are used descriptively to identify the destinations we serve. To book a room, contact the resort or brand directly.
Driving figures on this page come from one routing row for the Bayahibe / Dominicus dispatch zone, not from a per-property measurement: every resort on this stretch dispatches from that same zone. Times are planning figures that vary with traffic, and they exclude immigration, baggage claim and hotel check-in. Resort facts are drawn from each brand's own published material; where a property does not publish something, we say so rather than fill the gap.
