An adults-only lobby that is not the one your driver will find first

Secrets La Romana Resort & Spa is the adults-only half of a shared beachfront campus, and its reception is deliberately the quieter of the two. That is pleasant on day three and a nuisance on day one: a vehicle sent to "La Romana" lands at the family reception, and the walk between the two with luggage is not what anyone books an adults-only week for.

So we carry the full brand name on the arrival sheet and confirm the adults-only reception explicitly at booking. It is a small piece of admin that removes the only genuinely annoying thing about arriving here.

Couples, honeymoons and the late arrival

Most parties to this property are two adults with two bags, which is the easiest transfer we run — and the one most often mis-sized upward by shared-shuttle operators selling a minivan seat. A couple travelling light fits the Small SUV; a couple with a week of formal wear for a wedding on site does not.

Late arrivals matter more here than at a family resort. Adults-only properties keep a shorter list of à la carte restaurants open past a certain hour, and a night arrival that lands at reception at eleven has fewer dinner options than one that lands at eight. We cannot change the flight, but we can make sure the drive is not the part that adds an hour, and we track the flight so nothing waits on a phone call from you.

Wedding and celebration parties

Groups on this campus tend to arrive in waves across two or three days rather than together. We hold one booking reference per wave, dispatch a vehicle per wave, and drop each one at the adults-only reception, which keeps the whole party out of the family check-in queue.

We name no client and publish no guest list. If your group needs a vehicle held for the week rather than a set of one-way runs, that is the private chauffeur service.

No child seats, and what that changes

There is nothing to arrange here that involves children, which removes a step most transfer bookings need. What replaces it is luggage: golf bags, dive kit and garment bags are the items that decide vehicle class on this route, and they are worth declaring at booking.

  • Small SUV (Volvo XC40) — up to 2 passengers and 2 suitcases. Two adults travelling light.
  • Full-Size SUV (Ford Expedition Max) — up to 6 passengers and 6 suitcases, with the luggage room for golf clubs.
  • Mercedes Sprinter — up to 16 passengers and 16 suitcases, for a celebration party arriving together.

The whole range, with photography, is on the fleet page.

When the guest list is not all over 18

The awkward conversation on an adults-only wedding happens before anyone flies. Admission here is 18 and over, so a nephew, a flower girl or a teenage sibling cannot be housed at this property at all — and a family that discovers this after booking flights has a problem no transfer arrangement can absorb.

Settle it as an accommodation question first: the family side of this campus takes all ages, and several properties along the Dominicus stretch do too, so the under-18 half of the party usually sleeps a short drive away rather than skipping the trip. Once that is decided, ground transport is straightforward — we take one booking per household, deliver each to whichever reception actually holds its reservation, and move people between the two properties during the week as separate short trips.

What we cannot do is carry an under-18 guest to a reception that will not check them in. Tell us which property each household holds, and the arrival sheet reads correctly.

Fast Track, and whether a couple needs it

VIP Fast Track is added to the same arrival and handed to your chauffeur at the private exit. Two adults with hand luggage on a quiet morning flight often do not need it. The same two adults on the mid-afternoon bank, when several wide-bodies land inside an hour, usually do.

Departures after a wedding week

Going home is the messier direction. A party that arrived across three days rarely leaves on one flight, and by then the luggage has changed shape: garment bags travelling back pressed rather than folded, wedding gifts, and an extra case bought locally.

So we treat departures as their own set of bookings rather than the mirror image of the arrivals. Give us the flight for each household and we schedule each pickup to that flight, sized to the luggage as it stands at the end of the week rather than as it was declared in advance. The pickups are made at the adults-only reception unless a household has moved to the family side, in which case we collect them there.

Route detail and vehicle fit for the wider area are on our La Romana airport (LRM) transfers page; the pricing model and the four-gateway comparison are on the Bayahibe destination hub.

Questions

Will the driver take us to the adults-only lobby or the family one?
The adults-only reception, named explicitly on the arrival sheet. A vehicle sent to “La Romana” alone tends to arrive at the family check-in, and the walk between the two with luggage is the one avoidable annoyance on this campus.
Two of us with hand luggage — do we really need more than the smallest vehicle?
Usually not. The Small SUV carries two passengers and two suitcases comfortably. What changes the answer is golf bags, dive kit or garment bags for a wedding on site, so declare those at booking.
Our flight lands late. Will we still get dinner?
That depends on the resort's own service hours rather than on us, and adults-only properties keep a shorter late list. What we can do is make sure the drive adds nothing: we track the flight and dispatch to the real arrival time.
Our wedding party arrives across three days. Can you handle that?
Yes. We hold a booking reference per arrival wave and dispatch a vehicle per wave, each dropped at the adults-only reception so nobody queues at family check-in. We publish no client names and no guest lists.
La Romana airport (LRM) is closest — should we fly there?
Only if the schedule works. La Romana handles far fewer flights, which is why most guests here arrive through Punta Cana and some through Santo Domingo for a better long-haul connection. The gateways are compared on the Bayahibe destination hub.
Is VIP Fast Track worth it for a couple?
On a quiet morning flight, often not. On the mid-afternoon bank, when several wide-bodies land inside an hour, usually yes. It attaches to the same arrival and your chauffeur meets you at the private exit.
