La Romana Airport (LRM) to Casa de Campo Resort — Private Transfer

Most of the resorts on this page treat the small local airport as a convenience; Casa de Campo treats it as an amenity that happens to be built next door. The property's own villas, marina and golf estate spread out from a point that is genuinely close to the runway, which means the arrival experience here is less a journey and more a hand-off.

That proximity changes what actually needs planning. Instead of timing a highway run against a check-in window, the questions that matter are gate access, which entrance your particular villa or wing uses, and how quickly a driver already knows the property's internal roads — because those internal roads, not the public highway, are the part of this trip with any real distance to them.

It also means seasonal charter flights and private aviation share this field with scheduled carriers more visibly than at a bigger airport. Guests flying in on a group or event charter, or on a private aircraft tied to a golf trip, are a normal sight here rather than an exception, and the resort's own arrival flow is built around that mix.

A short drive does not mean a small amount of luggage. Casa de Campo draws golf groups travelling with full sets of clubs, and villa guests arriving for a longer stay with the kind of luggage a week-long standard room booking rarely produces. Tell us the count and the shape of what's coming — clubs, extra cases, sports equipment — when you book, so the right vehicle is waiting rather than being swapped for a bigger one at the curb.

This matters more here than at a resort reached by highway, because the arrival window at a small local airport does not leave room for a second vehicle to be summoned. Getting the vehicle size right the first time is the whole exercise.

It also matters at the other end of the trip, when clubs and cases come back out for the return flight. A villa group checking out after a golf week often has more to load than it arrived with — extra purchases, gifts, sometimes a second bag bought locally for overflow — so we ask about the return leg's baggage at the same time we confirm the arrival, rather than treating it as a separate conversation days later.

Casa de Campo is close enough to La Romana's airport that most guests should default to it, but Punta Cana is still the airport with the deeper scheduled network, and if your fare, your airline or your dates only work through the east coast, that longer drive is the honest answer for your trip.

The two arrivals are simply different in kind: one is a gate hand-off measured in minutes of driving, the other is a highway transfer along the Coral highway corridor. Neither is wrong; only one of them fits a given flight.

If your itinerary is still open, weigh the airport choice against the whole trip rather than this leg alone: a golf-focused stay built entirely around Casa de Campo's own courses tends to favour La Romana, while a trip that also mixes in other east-coast plans, or a connection that only exists through Punta Cana, may make the longer drive worth accepting.
