The resort
Taïno-themed throughout; “zemí” is a Taíno deity. Built new for the brand, never rebranded from an earlier property.
500 rooms including 119 swim-out and plunge-pool suites, 87 Club Azure rooms and 28 Club Azure suites, plus oceanfront bungalows. Around seventeen food and drink outlets. Four pools including the adults-only Royal Palm rooftop infinity pool, restricted to Club Azure and bungalow guests; three waterslides; the Acana Spa at over 16,000 sq ft; padel and pickleball; kids' and teens' clubs; bowling; an escape room.
There is no adults-only wing here: the adults-only elements are the rooftop pool and the cigar lounge. 4.6 / 5 on Tripadvisor across roughly 438 reviews, #2 of 8 in Miches.
An honest word about Zemi Miches
Praised: staff warmth, the design, room size, food above the all-inclusive norm. The complaint you should hear before you book: the beach is rocky and lagoon-like, the water murky, water shoes advised, and it is poor for ocean swimming. Also reported: restaurant-booking app glitches and reduced venue rotation in low season.
If ocean swimming is the point of your trip, Playa Esmeralda proper — Club Med, Viva, the Hyatt pair — is the better stretch. We would rather you know that now.
