Transekur Global LLC (“Transekur,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a Florida limited liability company, operates the website transekur.com and provides ground transportation services in the Dominican Republic. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you visit our website, book a service, or communicate with us.

By using our website or booking our services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information directly from you when you book a service or contact us:

  • Identity information: first name, last name.
  • Contact information: email address, mobile phone number, billing address.
  • Trip information: pickup and drop-off locations, dates, times, flight number, number of passengers, vehicle category preferences.
  • Payment information: handled exclusively by our PCI-DSS Level 1 payment processor, Square. We never see or store your full card number, CVV, or expiration date. We retain only the last four digits and a tokenized reference for reconciliation and refund processing.
  • Communication preferences: your opt-in status for SMS notifications, your selected language, and your responses to messages we send you.
  • Technical information: IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, and pages visited, collected automatically via cookies and standard server logs.

We do not collect Social Security numbers, government identification documents, or payment card numbers on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

  • To confirm and deliver the transportation service you booked.
  • To send you transactional communications about your reservation by email and SMS (see Section 4).
  • To process payments, issue refunds, and resolve disputes.
  • To respond to your customer service inquiries.
  • To prevent fraud and verify the legitimacy of bookings.
  • To comply with tax, accounting, and other legal obligations applicable in the United States and the Dominican Republic.
  • To improve the website, the booking experience, and our services.

We do not use your personal information for behavioral advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies for the following purposes:

  • Essential cookies: required to load the booking widget, maintain your session, and remember language preferences.
  • Analytics cookies: Google Analytics measures aggregate website traffic and helps us understand how visitors use the site. This data is reported in aggregate and does not identify you individually.
  • No advertising cookies: we do not run any third-party advertising network. We do not use remarketing tags or audience-building pixels.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent the booking widget from loading correctly.

4. SMS Messaging Program

When you book a service on transekur.com, you may opt in to receive transactional SMS notifications by checking the consent box on the booking form. SMS opt-in is optional and is not required to complete a booking.

  • What messages you will receive: booking confirmation, driver assignment, driver en-route alerts with estimated time of arrival, driver-arrived alerts, and trip completion confirmation. All messages relate to the specific reservation you booked.
  • Message frequency: varies based on trip activity. Typical reservations result in three to six messages from booking to trip completion.
  • Message and data rates: standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. Transekur does not charge you for SMS messages; any cost is determined by your carrier plan.
  • How to opt out: reply STOP to any message at any time. You will receive a single confirmation message and no further SMS until you opt in again.

  • Carrier disclaimer: mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery depends on carrier networks, recipient device status, and other factors outside our control.

Important disclosure: No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories of information exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

5. Service Providers and Third Parties

We share limited personal information with the following service providers, only as needed to deliver our services:

  • Square — payment processing.
  • Telnyx — SMS and voice infrastructure.
  • Google — Maps, Analytics, and route optimization.
  • Supabase — secure database and application hosting (US-East region).
  • Lovable — application hosting and deployment for our booking widget.

Each provider is contractually bound to handle your information in compliance with applicable privacy laws.

We do not sell, trade, rent, or transfer your personally identifiable information to third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Data Retention

  • Booking records: retained for seven years to comply with United States and Dominican Republic tax and accounting requirements.
  • SMS opt-in records: retained while your consent is active. If you opt out, your opt-out is retained for compliance auditing.
  • Customer service correspondence: retained for three years after the most recent interaction.
  • Website analytics: aggregated, non-identifying data retained per Google Analytics defaults.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right to access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to correction: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Right to deletion: request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements (e.g., tax records).
  • Right to opt out of sale: not applicable because we do not sell personal information.
  • Right to data portability: request your information in a machine-readable format.
  • Right to non-discrimination: we will not deny service or charge different prices because you exercise these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email contact@transekur.com from the address associated with your booking. We will respond within 30 days.

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). European Union residents have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. Children’s Privacy

Our services are intended for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately and we will delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

Personal information is processed in the United States (our database is hosted in the Supabase US-East region) and in the Dominican Republic (where our operations team coordinates trips). If you are a resident of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, your information is transferred under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission.

10. Security

We protect your information with the following safeguards:

  • TLS 1.2+ encryption in transit for all website and API traffic.
  • Encryption at rest for our database.
  • PCI-DSS Level 1 compliance through Square for all payment data.
  • Restricted internal access on a need-to-know basis, with audit logging.
  • Regular security reviews and dependency updates.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to customers with active reservations and posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of our services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
